CB Radio Mounting Location Ideas?
Okay, I have a cheap little Midland CB radio. I have a 99EX coupe. I've looked all over and can't find a half decent place to mount the thing. I'm also trying to find a place to put the 150W amplifier, which is like a 3"x6"x8" box. I need to be able to access the buttons on the front of the amp while I'm driving. Any ideas? I've been trying to figure this out for weeks.

Come on guys its not that unrealistic, i have a Del sol and if i ever mounted one in there i would make a bracket so it went in the rear console.
But I myself have a handheld one for a few reasons.
1) Boredom, its amazing the convos you can listen to while driving around between truckers, just amazening.
2) Police channel, Cops around here use channel 9.
3) Semis know when there are speed traps, cops often times use them to set up rolling road blocks to stop ppl before they can cross there little 2 mile jurisdictional lines.
4) free unreliable 411.

Exactly. Boredom. Being let in when there's a tight squeeze, just messing with the truckers, BEAR ALERTS!, etc. Now where exactly is this rear console?

The radio itself is small, maybe half to 2/3 the height of a din radio. 2/3 as wide. It needs extra space though as it has speaker holes on the bottom.
I need to adjust the amp for receiver preamp boost, turning the thing on and off, and adjusting power output. I don't want to be talking to Texas unless I really need full power.

Talk to Texas? Maybe a Ham I dunno about CB, but anyways.. Why don't you just mount it under your dash or on your arm rest. Doesn't take much ingenuitity(sp) to find a mounting place assuming it did come with brackets.
Yea, talk to Texas. It's 11m, so it's really close to HF. Certain times of the year, you can get a skip going off the ionosphere, and if you have enough wattage, 250W in, 150W out, you can do it. The amp has ssb am modulation as well as a preamp (receive) button.
