Which Integra would YOU buy?
Guys, I'm having a hard time deciding which Integra to buy.
Whichever car I choose will remain stock, and will be our daily driver (approx 85 miles round trip each day).
Please help! Any feedback would be welcome.
Choice #1
94 Dark Silver LS in very clean condition. 62k miles
A few tiny dings overall, but not noticeable until you really look for them. Timing belt and 60k service was just performed. Owner has all records. Oil/fluids were all changed often.
2nd owner.
Price $8k
97 Light Silver LS in near perfect condition. 44k miles.
A couple of tiny scratches on front and rear bumpers but only noticeable from 5 ft or closer.
Original owner, has all records. Serviced regularly (oil/etc.)
Price $11.5k
I need to decide by tonight which car I'm going to buy.
This is in Northern CA btw.
Thanks!

I also agree on the 97, reason? Less miles, if you are going to be commuting that far a day, and you are going to remain stock, there really is not a reason to go with the older car. Now if you are ever going to do any modding, then you really should go with the 94 and the OBD1 ecu. Just my thoughts.
Unless you're looking for an automatic (I know traffic coming into the Bay Area from Livermore is utter hell), I would go for a GS-R. For the same price you may have to settle for higher mileage, but if it's been serviced properly and not beaten on, it'll go for more trouble-free miles than you'd probably care to keep the car for.
Thanks for the add'l responses guys.
Machef,
I think the prices around here are much higher than in your neck of the woods, unfortunately. Down here you'll often see the asking price for LS's anywhere up to 15k for a 98 with 30k miles! I was able to talk some down, but I think a lot of people are in denial.
Also, (mercury) the only colors we are considering are silver, blue and maroon. _Unfortunately_ maroon gs-r doesn't exist, blue is VERY hard to find and is $$ when found, and silver I haven't had much luck finding GS-Rs around here for a decent price. If I could find a clean 97+ Silver GS-R for under 13-14k, I would buy it.
Re automatics, I don't care for auto much, even with the traffic (and yes, thank you, it's a beast. Luckily we come in at 5am and leave early, missing most of the bad traffic)
The LS's we're looking at are both 5-speeds.
I guess some of the attraction towards the '94 is I like the silver color on that one better (darker color). And also I figure I'll save 3.5k for other goodies or savings.
Reason we decided to go for the LS instead of the GS-R was for lower insurance rates. Plus we're not looking for performance THAT much....not having VTEC isn't going to kill me. It would be NICE, but not critical. I'll probably save myself a speeding ticket or 2 anyways, grin.
Please post some more and help me decide.
Thanks!

I think that you should go with the 94. Is 20K miles worth $3500? I dont think so. Also the 94 just got the timing belt done so that just saved you $400 that the 97 would soon be needing. I think it should all come down to which one runs better. Either way you will have a nice commuter
Punkrock247,
Thank you! I meant to post the same 2 reasons for my choosing the 94.
I think I'm leaning towards the 94 since I like the color better, and it's cheaper.
And it drives just as nice as the 97.
Wow, the 97 owner is calling me on my cellphone now. Stay tuned!
Thanks for all the help again guys

Dumb (appearance) question:
If I get the 94, is it possible to change out the F+R bumpers from a 98+, or do they not bolt up properly?
I've always liked the look of the 98+'s slightly better. Not critical, but maybe later on I'd like to swap.
