I would just get a b18b1 non-vtec. Build that up a little bit and add a turbo. With good tuning, it can surpass 300hp. Those engines are hella reliable, good for boost, good torque numbers, will pull you ek hatch respectively, and blow away your h22 hatch. Just my .02.

well, you just left out the only two engines that are even in teh same ballpark. If you want to stay all motor you are going to spend a ton either way. Why not just turbo the d-series? You can replace them for like 200 bucks and your initial investment is small.

i would save some extra money and go K if thats a possibility for u. good luck beating ur H...

i sold my h22 swap and bought a b16. havent put it in yet still rouonding up parts. ppl think i am crazy, but they are too much fun. my friend has a b16 hatch, and its a blast to drive, even though my h22 was faster. and i can put my a/c on.
i still have an h22 longblock for sale if anybody is interested.

You can keep your a/c w/ an h22-eg. It's not easy, but it's definitely doable.
