I wanted to but a type r wing for my 98 gs. i already have the gsr wing on it with brake light. the guy i was going to get the type r wing from sed it wont work cuz my holes are much bigger cuz of the wires for my stock wing. he sed itll work but ill have big holes stilll where water and what no can come in. i never heard this before, but maybe someone can help me with some ifo cuz right now im not sure what to think.

 

As far as i know all the holes are the same size. An R wing is a direct bolt-on to your trunk.

 

only the comptech R wing will cover up the big hole..there's only one hole that i believe will show, and that's the bigger one where the wires run through..

 

so your saying the comptech r wing is the onyl one that will cover everything. What makes the differnece? is it the base of it of something?

 

When I put OEM ITR wing on my 98 GSR it left 2 holes exposed.

The ITR wing will bolt on using the 4 small holes. The GSR wing had an extra stud holding down the wing on the drivers side and the wires went thru the hole on the passanger side.

 

1. why did they have that extra hole on the driver side. and
2. what is the brand type r wing that i need to get that covers all the wholes. i dont know what brand makes a replica one that i can use for that.

you need to get the comptech type r wing for a gsr, thats the only one that will fit perfect and cover up all the holes, i also believe you can get them with or with out a brake light also

 

there are 5 holes i believe...4 for the screws for the wing, 1 bigger one for the wires

 

Can someone get a pic comparing the two spoilers so i can see how the base of it is different?
