How do you know when the clutches go out in a clutch type LSD?
Easy way would be to put the car in the air, and spin one tire, and see if the other spins the same direction. If it doesn't, then they're worn out. Hard way would be to take out the lsd, have one side held still by say an axle in a vice, and see how much torque it takes to rotate the other side.
The other day I had my car on the lift and spun the left tire forwards and the right did the same. So am I fine then? The LSD didnt make as big of a diff in 60' as I thought it was going to thats what I was asking.
That means it isn't totally worn out. All it will do in straight line acceleration is basically lock the tires together.
