Default Question about rust..don't know if this is the right forum but hell ill try!

I found a 93 Accord and the paint near the rear bumper right by the wheel is bubbling up. How bad is this??

Any tips that you guys could give me about how to stop this from spreading?

Thanks

either cut out or sand down all of the rust, if it has the plastic trim around the wheel well ditch that.

It depends on how bad the rust is, if its a little surface rust something as fine as 180 grit might do the trick. If is it starting to rust through you may need to weld in a patch, grind it lightly with 36 grit and then apply some body filler sand it to contour then prime. If you take some pictures I could help you out more

cut it out. I'll bet big money that its rusted all the way through. You'll never be able to sand down to clean metal.

ditch the trim for certain.

expect to spend big money if you don't DIY it.

I have this on my Civic quarter panels. Tommorow I plan on cutting it out and molding in fiberglass. Whatever color I paint it temporarily looks better than awful rust brown.

There is this like fiberglass stuff you can mix and then mold in. It snowed today so no work, maybe later on this week.
