Honda MTF and it's about 2.3 quarts according to the Helms manaul. If you searched you would have found the answer very easily.

Usually almost 2 1/2 quarts. Drain the tranny, but the plug back with a new crush washer. Then make sure your car is pretty level, and put in about 2 1/2 quarts, and if it does not start draining out the fill hole then you need to add a little more! It is full when the fluid is level with the bottom of the fill hole.

I only use eithter Honda MTF or Kaaz!!!

perfect answer, not 2 1/2

And the car has to be level as possible- don't skimp out on filling it, there is a reason why Honda said 2.3

There are two different washers. The smaller of the two is the same as the oil pan fyi.

And here's a good post that follows up on this all, strangely enough we can credit OPIE?!

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=641356

And a link to a step by step:

Btw, it's very easy. If I can do it so can a lame, blind and thick headed monkey.

You can reuse the washer.

I've used GM syncromesh 2 tranny fluid changes ago. I must say...it can't beat MTF in terms of smoothness. IT got pretty crappy after only 5k miles and kept making me grind. Honda MTF =

well it took my grind from 5k to around 8k and that has been about 2000 miles ago.... we'll find out how long it holds up

DOod. You have to use friction modified. That is what is the good stuff.

Not recommended, because it's a crush washer... once used it's crushed and possibly won't seal right again.

been using GM Synchromesh (not friction modified) for the last 20K miles, no problems getting into 1st/3rd like I had with the MTF. I never replaced the crush washer either. :shrugs:
