Default whats up with all the smoke?

hey I just got my G2. 176 miles on it. When i rev the engine a lot of smoke comes out of the exhaust. At first it is greyish smoke that smells like gas. Then after driving it, it turns into nice white smoke and smells like gas. Its not to say its a lot of smoke, but its more than normal. Is my fuel running to rich?

if it was black it would be rich. you might be running lean but thats usually a really thin grey smoke. thick white with a fruity sweet smell would be water. ATF burns white, but you probably dont have atf anywhere near your car. oil comes out grey w/ a bluish tent. you might just be burning some oil. it happens.

dont do anything like seafoam, it'll probably get worse. its a high mileage honda, so expect some oil to get used up. just make sure to check the oil level often.

yea, I think its from my oil, because i just got this car and i checked the oil and man its trash. like there is all these particles and muddy **** ini t. Im going to change my oil, flush out all my fluids and refill them, and clean the throttle body with this cleaning spray. Then i will install my short ram. If this does not solve it then for sure its running rich right?

if you have a blow by from the rings not sealing or the valves not in spec you will burn oil. I would first make sure that the fuel system is clean (check injectors, fuel filter) then check out your spark plugs and what they look like. let us know from there what you find out

after you do all that, come back here and tell us if it still is smoking, then we'll let you know what's wrong with it, can't determine if it's the fuel from the information that you've provided so far.

smell sweet? Is it smoke or like a vapor? If its smoking whitish and sweet smelling its could be your head gasket....If not you could be running lean. What did the plugs look like when you took them out??

Hmm. When you put your hand in the vapor and smell it is it a gas smell?
Does it have that vapor all day long? Or just in the am?

Sounds like normal. My car vapors in the am, lil bit of water vapor.

your sure your valves are in spec and all that? Sometimes when they are not in spec the valves wont seal and you will have premature exhaust expulcion(sp?) where the gases and are sucked out the exhaust as well as the intake valves at the same time. and you will be wasting that gas/ loosing power/ and vapor coming out your exhaust. Either that or I am really faded right now.. sorry..

yea i have a radiator problem. The owner of the car told me that there is a radiator leak and a termostat needs to be installed. This week im going to get the radiator repaired, install the termostat, flush the radiator and engine, and put in new radiator fluid. Will this help solve my problem? because at first it would idle really high and give out a lot of smoke. i changed the spark plugs, wires, sri, cleaned throtlle body with spray, oil, oil filter. help

I would check the compression...that will tell you if you have motor issues.

Take it to a shop or pick up a decent compression gauge/tester. They probably run 65-125 for the ones i've seen others use.
