Default Will my B16A2 water pump work on my LS B18A

Just a question because i just bought an LS block and just bought a new water pump for the B16.

yes it will work but your going to have to buy a B16 timing belt. the LS water pump has 19 teeth and the vtec water pumps(b18c,b16) has 22 teeth. so if you use a vtec water pump you have to use a vtec timing belt.

actually I think you will need a Gsr timing belt, not sure though

yeah i just put on a brand new timing belt and waterpump on the b16 and i dont wanna waste it. So if i can use b16 waterpump/belt on the ls block/gsr head im good.

B18A block and GSR head.

so basically if you use a vtec water pump, you can use any vtec belt.

no not any vtec t-belt. any vtec timing belt but the one from a b16/b17 since its shorter.

b18c/b18c5 will work

Damn. I have a freakin brand new B16 waterpump and belt. And i cant freakin use it. Well i can use the pump, but I have to use a GSR belt? If the blocks are the same size, but the head is only slightly taller, why wouldnt the belt work? It would take away a LITTLE deflection on the belt.

whoops. my bad. i was always told that the blocks were and that the heads were different.

Okay, so.... with my b16 waterpump on the LS block i have to use a GSR timing belt?. Ive heard a couple diff. answers thats why i ask again. lol.

how many teeth are on a b16 pump. And to confirm all these posts cause im about to freakin put all this together... on my B18A block, i can use my b16 water pump, and run a GSR timing belt being im using a GSR head?? i want to be 100% sure cause ive read a bunch of different answers.

Vtec pumps have 22 teeth,non have 19.Lsvtec with ls pump uses ls belt,with vtec pump it uses gsr belt.
