Default Jumped time

How could you tell if your car jumped time? Because my car had a code 8, so I put a new distribator on it and the cam was off by four teeth, so I put it back dead on. And the car still won't strart and I am still getting a code 8, and the cam gear bolt keep coming loose every time I try and start the car ever after I torque the bolt down. Any help?
