Default Wheel Spacer question

Hey guys

I'm definatly going to be sticking with my stock SH rims, but i feel the that rims dont stick out as much as i would like them to. Now im not talking 90 spoke cholo style on a 71 impala, but i just wanted the wheels/tires to stick out of the wheelwells a little bit more, much like a 17 inch rim would. So i was wondering. What would something like a 5mm wheel spacer do to it? Do you think it would look good? How would that affect the camber, if at all? Just getting some opinions here, thanks guys.

you'd need something a lot bigger then 5mm to make the stock wheels flush with the fenders

Spacers won't effect camber. But, the furthur out you move the wheel the less effective your suspension will be (more leverage makes springs feel softer) and the more wear you put on the bearings. This won't be an issue as long as you don't skateboard the car tho.

spacers will effect camber unless it is dead on flat now.....

you will need longer lug nuts if you want to space them more than about 3mm.....they could break easily at anything under that....

Hmm, all signs seem to be pointing to the "no" option here.

Camber, soft suspension, longer studs, sounds like its more trouble than its worth. Ah well. Thanks guys.

Please explain how they effect camber. If they're not flat then the wheel would wobble.

He meant if your wheel isnt flat against the road. if you camber is off now. when you install a spacer that would create a greater offset it would amplify any camber. this is somewhat also true if you put on a wider wheel/tire combo.
