Suspension dropped on the front right side...Diagnosis?
Alright I know the obvious and easiest answer is take it too a shop. But i'm a struggling college kid here so I dont' have the luxury to be playing around with money. Anyway in the snow a month ago i crash my front right wheel into the curb. Like my wheel hit head on and nothing else, probaly at like 15mph or so. Since then my car sits a lot lower on that front right tire. Also my alignment is fucked up now. I was thinking that what I most likely did was break my spring and/or strut. So I was gonna order some KYB AGX struts and some tien springs all around. Do you think that will fix the problem? Or do you think I might have messed up something else? Ball joint or something I don't know suspension isn't my forte. Thanks.
Jack it up, take the wheel off and look around for something that looks bent or out of the ordinary. We could guess all day...
Something is seriously bent. If you can drive the car then the chances are that you have bent one of the control arms or shock/spring blew. This is a job for a real shop to look at before you buy any parts. An alignment will only fix the Toe on our cars when they do NOT have Camber kits. If it is simply a blown shock/spring then your solution plus an alignment will fix it. If it looks like some type of frame issue then a frame shop can fix that for you.

yeah, i would say that something(s) is bent. the radius rods. LCA, trailing arm, they're all a possibility, and it's going to be a pretty expensive fix. my suggestion to you is to find a junkyard car and lift as much of the suspension as you can, cuz buying the parts new will cost well into the thousands. it's always tough with stuff like suspensions since sometimes it's hard to tell something is bent, and hard to see what's causing a problem.
but! on the brightside, things could be less severe, and maybe the shock dropped into the fork a little deeper and needs to be readjusted.
whatever the case it's hard to tell, so get the car on jackstands and see what's going on behind that wheel.
good luck

Well I know it could be a million things wrong but I was just wondering what the most likilhood was. I mean I don't want to take it to a shop, have them diagnosis and then have them rape me replacing the parts with OEM stuff, when I can walk in there with aftermarket parts for cheaper and just have them do the labor you know? Saves me some money. Do shops like Midas, Meinekee etc diagnosis problems for free or once you take it there are you locked into having them fix it?

you're never locked into having it fixed there, if you can drive it off the property. they might charge you something for the diagnosis though. maybe $50.
just make it clear to them you want them to check it out, and not make any repairs just yet. it's your right as a consumer to check around. but, i also wouldn't be confident in their opinion b/c i've seen those kinds of shops suggest some pretty ridiculous crap as a fix for suspension problems.
you should find a good honda specialist, someone that knows double wishbone hondas, b/c they're worth it.

I did the exact same thing, for one you probabely were going faster than you thought.. same case with me. My whole right side pretty much from the knuckle back was bent. I had to replace the ball joints, radius rod, the crossmembers, in fact my rear crossmember still needs to be replaced.. Hopefully yours doesn't seeing as how it has the rack in it so it'll be a pain in the butt. Hopefully you weren't as bad off as I was but thight might give you some insight. What really helped me was I took it to a frame shop, they told me everything that needed to be replaced then I went to a junk yard and picked out all the parts. Cost me 400 but I knew the guy. Good luck!

You could take it to a Honda dealer. Go in for an oil change or something. Once your in, you can have them check your car over for damage to the front end. I bought my lude a few weeks ago and had them perform an oil change. While my car was there I had them look over the entire car to see what if anything was wrong with the car. They didn't charge me at all for looking it over. Try it out!
