Default h22 eg exhaust

right now I am running a stock manifold to 2 1/4" piping with a GSR cat and a SPW universal ebay muffler. It is insanely loud and I am converting the car back to a stock look and I'd like to get a muffler that is going to be stock looking and quiet. I've read that the magnaflow and ESmufflers still yield a raspy sound under acceleration. I was wondering if a Stock prelude muffler would fit in the stock location or if another muffler would fit (?teg type r o rlude type S?), be quiet and not bottle the exhaust up. The motor is basically stock, just minor bolt ons. Do you think I'd notice a difference in the HP range if I switch to some sort of a stock muffler. Actually I could spend a few bux and dyno it for kicks. What should I do?

Get a magnaflow and have the biggest resonator you can get installed. There should be no raspyness.

i am running a h22-EG
JDM header
carsound cat
2.5 magnaflow catback with huge resonator

it sounds like crap, i am looking at add another resonater, maybe even TWO additional if i can.

the crapy sound is probably due to the carsound cat though

How big of a resonator do you have?

i do not know the length. i just bought this car a few days ago. it's not custom. it is the resonator included in the cat-back system. it's a lot wider than my stock GSR resonator.

I have a 2.5x22" (huge) magnaflow resonator and 2.5" magnaflow oval muffler. It is awesome for all times but in VTEC @ WOT. It sounds like typical rice burner. However, when not stopping on it and before VTEC @ WOT it has a very nice low deep tone.

that set up sounds good to me. i am running the Magnaflow straight through muffler on my system. that is also part of my problem, giving me the buzzing bee syndrome.
