Wash them very well with a lil water and tad bit of simple green, or try oxyclean maybe. I dunno how much buffing would help with the color but if you decide to do that I would get some 1000 grit wet or dry sand paper and lightly wetsand the entire wheel, then rinse the wheel with water and dry it. Take 3m buffing compound (3000 grit) and use clean foam waxing pad by HAND and rub the compound on teh surface, wipe it off with a clean rag and repeat process with a new foam waxing pad only use 3m polishing compound this time. The 3m polishing compound will get rid of scratches made by the 1000 grit and the 3000 grit buffing compound.

We have done this to revitalize white paint on car panels but I have never tried it on a wheel just to let you know.

Only way to solve this problem is to sell them to me.

BTW ^^ waxing a wheel is perfectly ok, and actually makes it easy to hose off the next time they're dusty.

you could wait until they're really bad and get them powder coated or painted again.

Not to sound like a dick but I would not wax them ever, the wax seals in all the grossness and thats how you get flaking and rust bubbling. Id give them a nice bath every now and then.

I keep my waxed and they look great. It really makes it easier to get off brake dust from track days and what not.

Alright, thank you guys for the input. I guess I'll just have to get them painted.

I've used rubbing compound with NO wet sanding on brake dust on body panels. Try that first. Good luck.
