Default d16z6 vs. d16a

i had ordered a d16z6 motor for my 93 civic vx and today i recieved a d16A. the valve cover says vtec and the motor has the vtec solenoid. just wondering if any1 knew the specs of this motor. im reading online it has 105hp on some sites and 124hp on other sites. can somebody who knows what theyre talking about please tell me the real specs.

Where'd you buy it from? Does it say JUST D16a or is there a number after it...? Why dont you contact the source to see whats going on?

the block just says d16A nothing after that. i have to wait till tomorrow since the place closed at 5. i already emailed the guy

bought it from cns motors "the best place to buy a japanese engine" @#$%# them

i sell import sohc engines.. and you got a sohv vtec.. pretty much the same deal at the z6 except you get free jdm point now... same power out put

i just bought a engine from cali.. i was just wondering if the d15b is stronger or weaker than the d16z6 since mine is 1.5lt the usdm is 1.6 rated at 130 hp. i got headers, high flow cat, and dual n1's soon to buy aem pullies, cam gear, stage 1 clutch, maybe flywheel , cold air intake, will it be able to keep up with mid modified dohc?? any info on the engine, and parts i should buy, thanx peeps!!

if u run stock to stock d15b is better cuz more aggressive cam n if u upgrade intake/header den u surely take them out even if they have intake n header

thanx- i will let u know how i did at the track.... hoping low 14's will c if i give dohc a run for there money, as for the engine ''d15b'' can i swap every thing i got from my 94 dx ..like censors, hoses, etc onto the d15b? palnning to do the swap my self ..will have pics soon. any info on wat i should do to the engine would be appreciated , holla back at ya boy

yes you will be able to transfer everything over to the new motor with no problem
