98 civic ex coupe a/t...i was looking to do small things such as i.h.e to start off. performance-wise, would i.h.e do the same to an a/t civic as it would to a m/t civic and if they were about the same, is the install much different? i searched for a while but im not finding much

it would help you out a little yes, as for the install it would be the exact same as a mt. car.

alright that makes me feel a little bit better about my a/t. what about if a turbo came into play later down the line? is it not worth turbo-ing a a/t and is it easier to turbo m/t? and what about building the engine, which parts should i stay away from getting if i wanted to put in a turbo later on?

From what I've heard A/T can not take much more power than stock. It might seem fine at first but in a few thousand miles you'll most likely find yourself with a slipping trans.

well if you are planning to go turbo you might want to think about the header install. Unless you find a header for a cheap price you would be removing that when you get a turbo kit.
Good luck...

how much power do you think can a stock auto trans handle? is there any mod i can add to it to make it handle more power?

i've also flirted with the idea of the infamous auto-to-manual swap. from what i've heard though, a lot of parts are involved and it's pretty hard to do. this is my daily driver so i'm not sure if i want a manual car for that, i also considered getting something for dirt money from a junkyard and making it a project car. that can get pricey though

i thought about it more and ive decided to only add a few performance mods (such as suspension, intake, exhaust...) and use the rest of my money to clean up the cars appearance a little...still wondering how much power the stock tranny would hold though....anybody?
