Default How long is too long?

Hey guys.. Posted this a while ago, but can't find the post now...

Background: Had a friend build my B18C (S2 stage 2 cams, Endyn high-comp pistons, etc) and now it's just sitting in the car. The motor was finished and put back together in late Sept or early October of 2004. It's partially re-installed, and it's hasn't been started.

I probably won't have the money to get this finished (Hondata install and startup tune) until April or May, so that's 8 months it will have been sitting idle...

Any forseeable problems when I go to fire this thing up in the spring? Should I be doing anything like rotating by hand or putting oil in the spark plug holes or anything?

If it's possible to get the engine and tranny mounted in the car, then hardwire the starter and go ahead and crank it over once every couple of weeks.

I'll definitely turn it over more often, but how much oil are we talking to be pouring into the cylinders? I've read like a teaspoon per cyl is good, then turn it over...

How often should I be oiling this bad boy?

Do NOT pour oil in the cylinders, you are 100% ok not doing anything not turning it over or anything. just make sure you have spark plugs in. You are just fine letting it sit there. just make sure when you go to do the initial start you crank it over a bunch with the ecu fuse out.

It is "good 'nuff" but IMO $1.49 x 4 spark plugs is cheap insurance to keep the cylinder walls of your brand new engine from getting condensation on them.

Not sure if these would fit in a honda valve cover or not.Might need to screw them in then put the cover on. http://www.eastwoodco.com/shop...orage
