rev limiter
Get your ecu chipped.
Doesn't sound like you should touch your ecu though.
This is an easier way of blowing your motor when you miss shift and it flies up to like 10k+.

You can blow a motor by misshifting even with a rev limiter. If you're doing 80 and go from 5th to 2nd, the motor will still shoot up to well over 10K, whether or not the fuel / spark is cut. It will still be spinning that fast, which will most definitely cause some sort of failure.
Either way, don't touch your rev limiter unless you know what you're doing, and have built your engine in some way.
That goes even more if you're talking about the speed governor. Please don't touch that, you don't need to go that fast.
