Default Motec Wideband

Anybody know where to buy the wideband O2 that Motec uses in the PLM (besides from Motec)?

2003 Jetta GTI 1.8T Turbo

Front O2 Sensor

That's the one I usually get...If yu need the VW part #...Call Innovate, that's the exact sensor they use in their kits.

Hell, I could use a few Bosch spares for my Motec PLM, but I'd like it with the correct plug, and dont mind paying a few bucks more for it this way, what was the GM part number? I'm pretty sure the newer Saturn uses the same sensor with the correct plug as well..

The best thing to do would be this. The sensor that the Motec PLM is the older version of the sensor. No longer used on newer vehicles Bosch has changed there style of connector on the sensor. The new sensor is more common a number of newer cars cavalier, G35, etc.... If you really wanted to and this is what I would suggest. AEM sells the connector kit to convert the old style to the new style end. Part number 35-2613 MSRP of $14.95 (you can probably find this cheaper no one sells for MSRP). Than you can buy the newer replacement sensors from a bunch of different cars. AEM part number is 30-2001 MSRP $86.94. This would be my suggestion. Hell if you have a shop and buy from AEM or buy from one of AEM's distributors it would be even cheaper.

If you look carefully there is a calibration resistor on both lambda sensors and the PLM requires a firmware upgrade in order to recognize it.

FYI send us your PLM and have the unit upgraded so it can use VW LSU 4.2. You cannot use the same resitor cal off a LSU 4.0 on a 4.2. I gurantee you that lambda values are wrong if you just lob off the connector.

The cost is $20.00 + return shipping if you send the unit to us.

Yes they are slightly off...reads .2 AFR rich. I noticed along time ago and tune accordingly. I didn't know I could send in for new firmware. I'll definately be doing that? Who do I need to talk to about it If I call Motec West?

When i called Motec west i spoke to,i believe his name was(George Clark)he was very helpful to talk to.

He was the one to help me convert mine from Lambda to A/F over the phone.

as far as the calibration resistors are concerned i have gotten mixed stories about if they are needed or not... can i eliminate it and change the plug outright? i know iv seen i done but id rather not screw up the plug on the motec plm... i wont just cut and splice it back on... i cant half *** it
