Default Help bringin up my Hp numbers...new to this...

Looking to get some more power out of my car... got a 1989 civic dx with a B18b in it at the moment... i just got screwed over on a b18c5 purchase which i never got the engine... anyways.. im revamping what i want to do... the car is a solo 1 track car which needs some more grunt... i dont want to spend much money cuz i dont have much.... what is the best i can do for my engine to get power (Besides turbo... No turbo)....

here are what im thinkin....
Turn the b18b into a stroker (if possible... how much power would it generate?)
pick up a GSR engine...
or do some mods to the engine i already have....

what do you guys recommend i do ?
please help me out...

Using a b20 block (cr-v) will give you 15-20 more hp without chancing your hp/torque peaks much.A 92-95mm crank will give you about the same hp/torque increase and will lower the peaks a little (rpm wise). The gsr will give you more power but at a higher rpm than the b18b.

I would start buy adding a PR-3 or P-72 head to your B18 block. Then go from there.

It really depend. Search our archives for different LSVTEC set ups and pick and choose what you liek and don't like about the different set ups. Come up with a budget and then go for it.

Typically changing a stock LS block over to an LSVTEC will net you 25-30 horespower alone.
