Default d15b7 block with y8 head swap....help please

i got swap done and i used the old head gasket to be cheap and found out that was a bad thing to do but the car started...and got a new gasket now so i replaced that and the freakin car wont start....i got a P08 ecu hooked up and just for the hell of it plugged in my DX ecu back in and still wont start i know everyones been telling me my timing has been off and yes i corrected this many times and still wont get a start so since im using a OBD 2 head should i swap the whole harness and use the 96+ harness with the p2p ecu to make it work or can i get it to work with the P08 ecu??

Aslong as your still using an obd-1 distributor you should be fine. Make sure you didn't put the distributor on 180 degrees off at the cam. Common mistake amongst people swapping a distributor on and off.

And from the sounds of things you're using the obd-2 distributor. Either repin it to obd-1 or get an obd-1 vtec d-series distributor and run that in conjunction with a p28 ecu. Definately do not convert things over to obd-2... shitty idea and a PITA compared to running a p28 and obd-1 vtec dist.
