Default TypeONE header

I'm about to pre-order the TypeONE 4-2-1 header from Mike at IPS. i just wanted to see if anyone had any personal experience with the header.

did anyone get to see it up close at the header test? what did you think of the quality? weight? etc.
if anyone does have it on their car, how is acceleration, any power difference, etc.
TIA

The only person I know who even has one yet is Alan From A&J (As far as I know he has the only Type One header in N America), As far as quality Wow its Nice, just as Nice as any Mugen or Spoon Header, and as far as the header tests its #s show alot of potential. I wouldnt reccomend it If I didnt think it was good.

There are a few ITR owners with them in the UK, I have seen them up close and quality is very good.

I have the older version. It had slightly smaller dimensions than the new one. Clearance is awesome. Some of the best clearance I have ever seen on a 2.5 collector header. Install was a breeze. No need to remove fans or grind anything down.

A lot of power in the mid was gained with this coupled with my vafc. You will notice how well the car breathes. Sounds awesome as well. What header do you have on there now?

Either way I don't think you'll be disappointed. I just hope that the second generation T1R headers are not as poorly constructed as the second gen T1R exhausts.

Dude......they Still haven't done anything yet? WTF?

How do these people plan to stay in business with customer service that is this shitty. I mean you have had that exhaust for what over 3 months. Problems since day one and nothing but hassle. At least send Jerry some money back. I guess business isn't what it once was. Before all you needed to do was to keep your customers happy and keep an open line of communication, but this is outrageous. We need to start making a list of all the ******* leaches that are sucking the life out of this board.

to greedy business owners that don't give a **** about the product they push, or the people that feed their families. I hope these idiots realize that they need us to survive.

Mike has some of the best customer service i've seen. I ordered a few small things from him over the winter and will be ordering from him again whenever i get around to buying another car.

Shut the hell up... seriously. The last thing Mike is, is a leech on the board. If you have a problem, take it up with him. But dont parrot off what you heard from someone else.

I dunno about their exhaust, but the type one header and testpipe are top notch quality. I have the testpipe and was looking to buy the header, but it was backordered to hell.

I'm running the first gen Type One header with a SMSP Cat, modified stock B pipe, and Spoon N1, and the gains were very noticeable over stock. Midrange after about 4k really picked up, and the surge to VTEC is amazing. The welds and fitiment on the header are top notch. I'm very happy with my purchase, and should be dynoing soon.

Lets see, I just read jdmspoonitr's post about 10 times and not once did he mention any name's let alone mike's name. So unless you have special vision I dont see why you have such a big stick up your ***.

And also, I thought this was a FORUM. What does the word FORUM mean you ask me?? Well from what Webster's reads, "an assembly for the discussion of public matters or current questions."
so, I guess jdmspoonitr does not have to "shut the hell up...seriously."

I have had this exhaust for about 6 months now and it did not fit right the first day nor is it fitting better as the days pass. Now the ill fitting exhaust is now melting the plastic around the rear bumper where the tip extends out. The muffler pipe is still rubbing against my rear LCA...

Oh wait according to .RJ the head gestapo of Honda-tech.com, I should "shut the hell up...seriously."

Hi!

I spoke to Alan @ AJ, and he recommended it to me. Mike: You should be able to get it from him? He said it was in stock.

Looks real nice too!

Oh, and Mike, if you read this, the tracking number I asked you about? (The norwegian fella).

Have a good one everyone!

That header is 4-2-1 w/2.5" collector right? How does that header compare to the JDM Apexi 4-2-1 w/2.5" collector? And what is the price on the T1R header? (stainless right?)

RJ:

You read to deeply into my post. I didn't say anything about Mike M. The people I have a problem with is AJ-Racing. Yeah they're great as long as the products they sell don't malfunction on you. But once you have a problem, they disregard it and say that race parts are never perfect.

The problem I have is that they knew that the exhaust had problems fitting, yet they still pushed the sale of them/didn't recall them.

This was no fault of Mike M's as I am sure he didnb't want to be stuck selling exhausts that don't fit either.

Don't jump on my back, when you don't even know what I'm referring to. I just think that it sucks when all of us are here to learn from each other and get advice and sellers can act like they are our friends and push us an inferior product.

I'm sure if you (RJ) bought one of these exhausts, you would not be a happy camper after 6 months of rattling and melting your LCA.

Oh wait, that's right, they have pretty bling bling parts, so let's all forget about how they are pulling off a scam. That's what it is, isn't it? Last time I remembered, when I went back to Macy's to return something that was not right, they either gave me my money back, or let me exchange it. That is something that would have been honorable. But leaving the customer out in the cold is the worst thing possible. Aj brought this upon themselves. Nobody should back up this behavior, or else they will think it's ok to do it again.

Kenrick<----------who stands by the people that are influenced by this board, not the people that make money off of it.
