CRX . . LS/Vtec Setup
Before the flaming begins just use search key up top, you can get a lot of info on LS/VTEC and basically whatever you need to know. LS/VTEC is a b series motor with a B18 bottom end, usually b18a or b18b and a b series VTEC head like a B16 or B18C.
I already have the shell . . . and i was going to do the b18 block with the b16 head . . i was gettin told that i should just buy the b16 swap and then just find a ls block. that way i have the b16 tranny . .
i am just wonderin the pros and cons of ls vtec and what it can do

I cant exactly tell you the pros and cons, I have heard a lot of good and bad things about that combo. I have a slightly built B16A in my CRX and is good enough for me as a daily driver, I dont think its overrated like some people say on this site. If I were you I would buy one of the engines first and swap it in, preferably B16A since you just turned honda. Also you can learn a lot from your first swap. Then if you want to learn more or get more torque try and find an LS block or something. Search for LS/VTEC, I did like 2 weeks ago and found like 900 results.
If you build the lsvtec atleast get arp rod bolts, and have the bottem end balanced..And if you go turbo get some arp head studs so the mothafu**** head dont lift..
And to make it easy for you get the ge lsvtec kit..Allows you to put the dohc vtec head on a b18a/b without any machine work..

something to consider is the LS block wont magically redline at what the b16a head is capable of.
sure it may do it for a while, but how long?
if you want high revs might want to look into a b18c swap.
if you really want an ls/vtec setup, youll need to get the block machined, or buy a kit, but that only makes the two pieces compatible with one another, that doesnt do anything for the weak bottom end, so youll be buying parts and doing work to beef that up, if you seriously look at price of all that, youll start to realize the gsr is a much better deal then people realize.
the swap really isnt any more work then any other b-series and has lots of potential.
it depends on how much work you want to do. lots of people do it all the time.
