Default Thinking about getting a Chikara exhaust ...

http://store.summitracing.com/...earch

What do you think? I have a 1988 Honda Prelude 2.0Si that would love to have one of those. My stock one is all banged up on the underside restricting a bit of airflow and making it run a little warm since the last time I drove it. Are they good manifolds?

What kind of tools would be required to replace my manifold? I bet those bolts are really stuck to the engine. The heads wouldn't snap off them if I really pushed them would they? Maybe putting a bolt loosener on first would help?

I was also told that the entire procedure could be done without taking the engine out of the car. Is this for real? Would I have to weld the manifold onto the enhaust system at all? Anything I should know for replacing the manifold?

Thanks for reading! I hope you can help in some way. This is the first time I'd be doing this procedure if I end up doing it.

you shouldnt have to pull the engine out of the car to replace a manifold, id put some penetrant on the bolts and let it soak in for a while before I went to crack them loose though

WTF? You would never have to pull the motor just to get the exhaust mani off. If its a direct fit, then you won't have to weld.

Sorry if my questions were annoyingly newbish ... heh ... I'm still learning ...

Looks like I might have an investment set on me then! Are there any other headers that you would reccomend? I know DC Sports makes one, but they're not in production anymore so they're hard to get a hold of.

I got one for real cheap when I bought my exhaust. Mine is for an h23 but I honestly cant say that it did much for the butt dyno. The runners seemed the same if not smaller than stock and it will be all rusty and **** within a few months. I would not recommend getting one. But then again thats your decision.

You might wanna check out ebay, they make some nice DC replicas on there, which are probably higher quality and cheaper then the Chikara header that your lookin at. Just a suggestion...
