nothing is effective on a y8, unless it's turbo.

Not quite there yet but in due time:

Low compression pistons (still deciding which ones)
Rings and rods ("")
Crank will be balanced and resurfaced
Honed block w/ block gaurd (brand still pending)
3 angle valve job
port and polish
port match
hondata IM gasket
Valves and valve springs (thinking maybe skunk2)
Cam gear (AEM or SKUNK2)
roller rockers

Thats it for the block/head build, but I'm sure I'm missing some things. But now for the real goodies

17c turbo
HKS BOV and wastegate
Intercooler (still deciding on which one)
3" custom exhaust piping (madrel bend of course)
Catco highflow cat
Magnaflow oval style muffler
2.25-2.5" custom intake piping

That's all I can think of off the top of my head right now. I hope to have this all done by winter this year. Yeah I know not the best time to finish, bite me.

Hey 2 of you did it right. Im not looking for what to put on my y8 so searching - even though i have - isn't what i want... i am just wondering every one elses set up, what they drive it in, and what kind of power they are making. pictures would be nice. So DO IT! ugh...i really didnt think it was going to be that hard to get.

Oh and SOHC4life winter seems like as good a time as any haha thats when mine was "done" if thats what you want to call it. Seeing as winter is right now in Washington...even though we had a **** winter up here and Cali has got 2ice as much rain as we usually get this time of year...

Ne ways, ppl just post you're effing set ups, post some pics of your bay/whole car...dyno sheets/est. power whatever you want.... i just want to see some of the stuff others are doing to their y8's right now.... im going to get mine tuned hopefully this week and post mine up soon with some pictures of the beast...

well what they were trying to say is that d-series motors really dont take well to any slap on mod (i.e. headers, intake, and exhaust). but they do love a turbo set up.

It is not that D16 don't respond well to bolt on parts, it is because the displacement is rather small and if it can achieve 100HP per liter, or even 105/liter (like the new RSX), 160-168HP is pretty much near the max for a D engine and the amount of money you spend to reach that number sometimes cannot be justified compare to an engine swap, or a turbo upgrade. There are high HP rating D16 engines, it is doable of course.

D series drag vehicles are decent fast, but most of them are not street driven. So based on all the factors, people have come to an agreement that the best way to produce more HP out of a D engine is by turbocharing it. But that is not to say that turbocharging is cheap either.

My opinion
