ITR on a Civic 98
Hi guys!! i'm new here and have a couple question on my ITR swapped civic, any help will be appreciated. This is what I have in the swap:
ITR Block
Brand New ITR Head,
Brand New ITR CamShaft,
B16 Tranny,
ARP HeadStud,
OEM Head Gasket
APEX'I VAFC
JG Intake Manifold, 68mm STR Throttle Body,
Brand New Over-Sized CTR Piston & Ring,
Brand New Main & Rod Bearing,
the car ran about 300 miles on 93 Octane Gas, no noise, Vtec working, ( but can't feel any power), when the engine is cold it cannot idle ( the car dies after letting go Gas pedal). compression of the car is 270 all 4. It feels like an 99 Civic SI.
Any body know why the car is not producing any power??? Plz help
thx!!!

Did you try advancing the timing? My ITR is 16 degrees advanced. What ECU are you running? Sometimes when it's cold, my car sounds like it's missing when it's idling.
The GSR ECU is the wrong ECU to run on an ITR engine if you want power. Is it tuned? What year is your car? I'd suggest running a chipped P28. You can run a P73 depending on the year of your car.

If you can find a 97-98 P73, or convert to OBD1 and get a P28. Then get it tuned. Right now your VTEC is kicking in at 4,400 instead of 5,500, and the ECU is looking for the IABs, which you don't have. I don't think you'll have good low end with that P72.
I dont' think IABs is the problem. or would be much of the different in term of power. I have done a swap before without connect the IABS and that gsr make good power, after that I connect the IABs and didn't feel any different.

Try checking your fuel system make sure your fuel filter is not clogged, that can stop the injectors from getting enough fuel. you said the distributor is good so that shouldn't be the problem. check for leaks fuel injection, intake manifold and all vacuum hoses make sure exhaust not clogged. sometimes the littles things we forget can set us back. also check valve clearances. good luck.
I think you need to run the correct ECU...
Doesn't the GSR have dual runners? blah blah blah
get a new ECU and come back with some results...
If I were you I would splurge and get something tunable
