So i had my swap done a month ago, and at the beginning i received an auto p30 ecu. I threw the auto code, but when i test drove it the redline was at 71xx. Is the redline supposed to be 8 on the autos?

I have an autoguage tach with the wire connected to my distributor.

As a replacement i was given a mugen chipped p28 with a 9 grand rev limiter, so i have no idea if my tach is accurate. If i had to put money on it i would think it is The vtec crossover is @ 5000 but until i get tuned i have no idea whats goin on.

Give me some thoughts

Also, side note---AT like 7800(as per my tach) the engine makes a noise similar to a car hitting a rev limiter but the rpms continue to rise to 8k. Stage 2 told me it was because i dont have a header and the engine is choking?

The "Mugen" program is junk for a stock motor. You either have excessive fuel at that RPM or the timing is so jacked that the engine is detonating. Where are you at? If the ECU is truly socketed I will send you a chip with the OEM P30 code on it for $15 shipped.

 

Exactly how bad is this program for what im running? I have just intake and exhaust

Should i not beat on it until i can get tuning? I doubt its detonating...but the i would definately say that it is excessive fuel.
