LS feeling slugish after warming up
Soooo for about the past month my car has been feeling very slugish once the motor is all the warmed up. I was wondering if somebody could point me in the right direction as to what the problem could be??? Its an LS with and intake and a crappy *** catback exhaust. (the exhaust was free...the muffler has really started sounding like **** lately, Yes I'm ashamed to drive an integra around with it sounding like a weed wacker...could that be part of the problem)
whats the mileage? do you beat on it? any other problems?
a loss of back pressure could make it sluggish... if the exhaust is all crappy you might want to start there, just don't go buying the most expensive stuff in case the problem lies elsewhere, hope it helps

The Mileage is a 78,000, no I don't beat on it, and no other problems. does it just need a good tune up??? I don't think it has ever had a valve adjustment....how much can I expect to pay for one???
if the valves need adjusting you should be able to notice at idle your making a lot of noise.
I'd say fix the exhaust and give it a good tune-up, at 78,000 miles it shouldn't be anything serious, I had an LS and I drove the hell out of it, I blew that motor at about 135,000miles. It wasn't stock either lots of bolt-ons and a newer tranny. I put 100,000 on it all by myself.
She'll love you more and put out if you fix her a lot
oh yeah a valve adjustment from Acura ain't gonna be cheap cause their gonna want to do a million other things. But if you go there and do a complete tune-up their responsible for their work.
Figure a complete tuneup from the dealer will probably run $400 bucks if they
don't "find" anything else wrong with it. If they do then tack on another $150 or so for miscellaneous crap.
Personally I'd try and find a mechanic who likes hondas and works on them often.
This has been my experience in NYC.
There are honest dealers and then there are money making dealers.
hope it helps.
A valve adjustment from a local shop might cost $75.00
