Default prelude SI and VTEC ?????'s

whats a better model to get for 92-96.... SI or VTEC.. im under the impression, correct me if im wrong, the Vtec has more HP less torque and the SI is opposite...

and... is a SI pretty much stock with 127000 miles for $3000 good with a small dime size surface rust spot on each 1/4 panel a good price?

i have a crx but it has no *****... i mean dont get me wrong, its fast but only cause its so damn light.
thanks every1

93-95 are all the same performance wise, my advice is to stick with OBDI cars, so no 96 vtec.

Majority of the differences between the 93 and 94-95 cars are all cosmetic things such as diff wheels, interior changes, standard passenger airbag on all post 94 vtec's etc.

In other words, you can shoot for 93-95 vtec and u will be good.

That Si you asked about, the oen for $3k with 127000 on the odo, I think thats a bit high. Do they have maint. records of things like timing belt, thermostat, and water pump?

I bought my 93 Si in Miami Fl for $2500 with 130k on the chassis and tranny and 50k on the motor . The motor was replaced due to flood damage, i assume the idiot tried to drive through a massive puddle and hydrolocked the engine.

In order to find what you want u have to be patient, i looked for a car for 7 months and thanks to my patience i stumbled upon this good deal.

hope this helps and sorry for the massive post.

This is a good point, look for an OBDI car so that you wont have to do the costly conversion later on down the road, when looking to tune your new mods. OBDI also have less restrictive emission control tests.

I don't know where it is that a lot of you guys find these cars for so cheap, but a 93 Prelude like that where I live (Johnson County, Kansas) would be around 4-5000 dollars. Where do most of you live at that the values of these cars are so low?

I live in Raleigh, North Carolina but i bought the car in Miami florida. Like I said, i spent months surfing the web, but i found my car on Auntotrader.

You can also check other prelude forums, they usually have pretty good deals. I tried to avoid Ebay when I was looking for my car

yeah I bought my 1995 for $8500 when it had 50,000 miles on it 2 years ago, and it was in showroom condition. That was still under bluebook values for retail and private party at the time, so it was a good deal. Then people on Prelude forums and stuff tell me I got ripped off, when the other options in the area were 9 and 10 thousand dollars, had over 100,000 miles, and weren't as nice.
