Default Need help wiring up race car

I hate to through in a link towards another forum on this board (Tech Section - https://honda-tech.com/zeropost...61493) though I'm not gaining any info there... Since the car is a Drag Only car, I thought I'd ask those of you that have been through the experiance before, possibly many times.

To make my problem short and sweet, I finally found a 92 hatch that being built as my All Motor Drag Project... Problem is, the car has absolutely no, zero, nadda wiring so I'm starting from scratch.. My question is, what exactly do I need to buy to make the car functional? Obviously I need a engine harness, un-dash ecu harness, but what else? There's a lot of wires, fuse relays, etc. under a OEM dash so I'm reaching out for help / a parts to buy list... I know this is a long shot, though are there any companies out there that basically make a race type harness that has everything you need all in one?

Sorry the pictures aren't hugely detailed, but the car looks like this (no fuse boxes, no notta):

hondata is very sensitive when it comes to race harnesses.....it needs stuff like the load detector and a bunch of other bullshit.....unless hondata is different now your gonna have a headache with a race harness and hondata

You can disable the ELD in hondata. I have not had any problems running the race only harness. All the appropriate sensors are still there for the Hondata to function correctly in the way I set them up.

In ways I feel like I should put all the OEM hardware in the just to be sure I have everything needed My biggest concern about this project so far is not knowing what "exactly" I need to allow the car to run properly... I'm very mechanical, etc.. though I've never started a car from bone scratch on up...

blown90hatch... I'm interested in your harness work as well... The car has all the OEM peices under the hood (brake/clutch master cyl., etc.. so I'd like a harness that'll run all of the OEM parts under the hood.. As far as interior wise, as long as the car starts when I turn the key I'm happy..lol the glass is full lexan now so theres no working windows, locks, lights, etc.. needed... So my entire problem is.. Where do I start?

I've never had a problem with Hondata either, haven't done anything lately tho. Either way you shouldn't have any problem. Good Luck

I'm not sure about Jason's harnesses but, yea that's all you need. With mine all you have to wire up is a constant 12V+, main ground, starter input ground, and a main switched ground which powers everything up. The only reason I use negative triggers for all my relays is to ease in wiring.

Just out of curiousity, how much is the materials only cost to make a wiring harness for a Honda using materials like the ones on the Motec site?

Motec uses the best material. Most of their material is all MIL-spec. Some connectors will cost more then $100/each (depending on which ones) not to mention the time and tools to do the pinning.

It's not the Mil Spec wire that's sooo expensive, it's the damn Raychem DR-25 shrink...
