Z10 radius rods on 98 GSR question and pics
All,
I'm having trouble with the center bolt on the radius rod arm kit. The outside mounting hole which the 'Tegs are supposed to use is directly under the radiator, so there's no where for the bolt to go. The other holes have nothing above them to attach to. Should I drill a fourth hole in the Z10's mounting bracket? I don't see how else it can be done. Has anyone else done the install on a 98+ GSR?

They also come very close to my Moroso oil pan, but don't seem to ever make contact.

Thanks!

Where did the bolt come out when you used the front most hole? I don't see any way to get at the area where the end of the bolt would come out to put a nut on it. If the front hole was just a little further back it would be easy.

The review on the hybrid.honda-tech page says you can use an existing threaded hole for the center tang, but the small bolt will probably break and recommends you drill your own hole. Scroll about halfway down the page to see install tips and pics.

I think the Civic install is a little different. You have to use the outermost hole on the Teg since there is nothing above the other two (as you can see in my pic.) It seems like the bolt would go right into the radiator on my car.
yeah um theres no threaded hole on mine well there is but its not even close. i dont h ave a civic. as for a teg the hole on mine went right under the readiator but didnt hit it

You have AC too on the GS, right? Did you have to remove the radiator to get at the bolt? It looks like mine would go directly in a pice of metal that wraps around the bottom of the radiator. I might be able to go through there if I had the radiator out. If the hole was just half an inch back I could just go behind the radiator. Damn.
radiator lifts up with only the removal of the 2 top 10mm bolts. just redrill and bolt it down using the most centered hole of the bracket through the lower support. thats all.
Thanks Jeff! I figured that was what I had to do but hadn't heard anyone having to do it this way, so I was afraid something wasn't lined up correctly.
btw....mine isn't even bolted up and i net 1.71-1.72 60' times with an open diff Si tranny with no wheel hop or anything. On others....we did what i mentioned.
good luck
