Default EGR Valve\Checkengine light

The other day honda disconnected my EGR valve and plugged it off, cause my car wasn't running good, now it runs wicked!! they told me the check engine light would always be on...

i'm just wondering if anyone knows how to get rid of the checkengine light?! is there a fuse for it, or is it just a bulb?!
or is it one of those things you just have to live with?! haha its just so bright driving at night... and theres not much sence of having a check engine light if its always going to be on, and not telling you when something is actually wrong with your car cause its always on anyways haha

if there is a way to get rid of it cools, hit me back!! if not sa'll good i'll just have to live with it haha

thanks

A dealership seriously just disconnected it and plugged it off? That seems pretty wrong on many levels.

The CEL is not going to go away until the problem is resolved. You can keep resetting your ECU everytime, but it is just going to keep coming back. When you have the check engine light on, your car is automatically in "Limp" mode, meaning it is running rich and only on minimal resources. This is not a good idea.

The EGR valve recirculates exhaust gas back into your motor. It is an essential part of emissions. I don't see why a dealership would just disconnect and plug it off that is totally unprofessional. With that said, you are going to notice a considerable amount of MPG loss with that thing not working like it is supposted to.

If you truely believe that the EGR valve is the problem, take it back and have them get you another one. Or you can do it yourself in like 15 minutes.

Sorry it wasn't honda that disconnected my egr valve it was a local garage, but the buddy that unplugged it and plugged it off he works at the honda dealer ship!!

and you guys are right my gas milage went down alot i lost over 100kms from half a tank of gas i only got 100kms from a half a tank usually i get 250-275kms sometimes more depending on how im driving!!

the thing i don't like is they charged me $276.00 just to do a 3 second thing i was really pissed about that... and now im more pissed about my engine light always on and my car losing a lot of gas...
i'm going to go outside now and plug my egr tube back in and see if my car is still running shitty... if it is can someone tell me how i can fix it without having to unplug that tube and put a peice of tube with a screw in it to block it off?!

ok sorry for all the questions but i really want to get my accord fixed and running back to normal!!

ok the buddy at the garage unhooked a tube and put a peice of tube with a screw in it over this thing, he said it was the EGR!! and that fixed the problem, but i don't like it!! my CEL is always on and im losing some serious gas milage...

is it fixable normal?! how do i know what it is for sure?! cause all he said it was is a EGR!!

and i really don't have any more money to keep blowing on nothing!!
i mean he charged me $276.00 just to unplug that thing and plug it off with a screw like what is that?!

sorry for all the questions, but i just really want to get my accord back to normal, its pissing me off

thanks

Here's a couple of pictures of what they did to my car. I'm just wondering what exactly is it? He told me it was the EGR that he plugged off and maybe someone can help me out so I can get my car back to normal and get rid of that unprofessional job he did!! Thanks!!

just found this interesting... how is your car an EX "non vtec" ... all the EX had vtec engines. This means your car is an LX and you're just pretending it's the higher trim? doesn't make sense to me, haha.

If you ever have a check engine light, go to Autozone, they scan it for free and give you the code its throwing and a brief description of what the problem might be... BUT, the car has to be 96 and up. Just an FYI. Good luck with your car.
