Check engine light came on my 99 Si!! please help!
I was driving, and engine light came on....when I go to a complete stop..the rpm stays on 1.5 rpm, then in like 2 seconds goes back to normal to 1...I went to honda to see wha the check engine code is...and they said it couldn't tell what it was and the service advisor suspects idle valve blah blah i forgot what he said..heh...do you guys have any idea what it is, and what i need changed? ..car has AEM Cai, p73 intake manifold, bored 64 mm tb....but their fine, I changed the tb to stock and its still running the engine check code
Have you checked the oil? If so see what code your throwing, and then we can tell you whats wrong. Sounds like the IACV though from your description.
Ok sorry..i'm such a newb...I changed my TB back to stock...and the idle is fine..so my next question is...does the engine light turn off by itself after a few drives..cause its still there...or do i gotta go reset it with a computer.....and my other question is...the other tb looks fine..could it be the sensors attached to that tb that threw the engine code? thanks for the help guys
go remove the negative battery terminal off the battery so it will reset your ecu. If the light comes back on after you restart your car you know that you still have a problem and will need to pull the code before anyone can guess what the problem is.

Try switching the sensors on your stock TB onto the aftermarket one, and then reset the ecu.

Ok i reseted and everything is fine....I guess it is those sensors of the new tb huh? would it really be the sensors of the tb? ...or the space of the butterfly....theres really no space...just enough for idle at 1 rpm...i think the butterfly seems fine to me..

AGAIN, the only way to know what the problem was, is to put the other throttle body back on wait for the engine light to come on and then retreive the code from the ECU. Anything else would be pure speculation about what was wrong.
Check to see what code comes up on your check engine light. to do so. there should be 2 blue clips underneath the passenger dash. take the blue clip with 2 holes in it. use a speaker wire, and connect hole 1 to hole 1. turn ur ignition to on but dont start the car. the check engine light should blink and it'll throw a code for you.
confusing? i think so. let me know if i could help you out more.

Ok theres no more check engine light when i put the bored 64 mm tb in, but the idle is still fucked up...when u rev it...it stops to 1.5...then few seconds goes down to 1 rpm....i drove it for awhile and still no check engine light...so not the sensors...must be the actual tb? ...cause when I did see wha engine code its throwing...it didn't blink or anything
