Quick Cam Questions..
I have a 95 Integra LS with LS/VTEC
B16 IM
B16 TB
B16 Head
B18 Block blah blah.
Would it be worth it to swap the B16 cams for GSR cams?
Also, would I need to do valve springs and retainers to be able to throw in ITR cams? A friend of mine told em that and I want just wondering.
I hhave low compression LS/VTEC right now because its stock, Im just looking to boost the vtec changeover and add a bit of hp! thanks

if ur goin to boost later on get the gsr cams..also ur goin to need to adjust ur valves and i sugjest if u havnt done this b4 have some one do it for u.. u dont eana "freeze" your cams
Well I dont plan on boosting the car. I understand the ideal way is low comp, right now I think it sits 8.1:1, great for boost. Im just looking to get a larger sounding vtec changeover, and a couple extra HP. I got a good quote on cams installed, and my aem gears adjusted aswell.
Like I said above, would I need to do complete head set, valve springs, retainers etc if I did ITR cams?

You dont need valvesprings if you dont rev it above the stock rev limit(8200),but with that comp. you dont gonna see the true potential of those cams, put some B16(P30) pistons,ITR valve springs, and CTR(IRT99-00) cams then rev it to 9k then you shoul see their true power
*Pet peeve of mine when people think a gsr camshaft is better than a b16

Understandable, I dont know much about it so I thought I would ask.
So I should get a more noticable changeover and some more power if I add some ITR cams with valve springs and maybe B16 pistons?. Why not GSR pistons?

Okay, none of you guys are answering my questions, your just thorwing out oddballs.
Im talking about the head, no block work, I cant afford that yet.
Would upgrading to ITR cams, valve springs and retainers help with vtec changover, and what kind of hp numbers am I looking to gain?

Cams and valvetrain affect where you set the Vtec engagement point. Itr cams would make more power than you stock B16 cams.

haha sorry, the reason my car doesnt have such a loud vtec engagment is because the low comp. I was told the head would imporive that a little more, until I can afford to get pistons..

Of course it will. When you alter the amount of air the engine takes in via valve timing event and don't change the change the amount of fuel it gets you will also alter a/f ratios. Mind you that this is in closed loop where the engine is not going off of the 02 sensor

Just changing cam gear settings on stock cams will throw off the air fuel ratios. Cam timing and profile have a huge impact on the way a cylinder fills.
