00 civic needing a boost
Which would be more efficient on a 2000 honda civic si.... a vortex supercharger... or a turbo. Im leaning towards the super, but i want to see some more info on the ups n downs of supers and turbos. I also have a thunderbird turbo coupe so i know how the turbos do.
turbo the pig. You can make a DYI kit for like $1000 or a whole lot less depending on the parts you use and it will run pretty damn good. Superchargers are a waste of money IMO.

well its more about personal preference.this topic has come up lots of times and usually ends up with "oh that sucks because..."persoanlly i like turbos better because it much easier to up the boost and you dont have any pulley's or belts to change.you also wont here the annoying sound of the belt.
You shouldn't just listen to whatever everyone tells you. I don't have either and still haven't made my mind up yet.
Superchargers are cool because there is no lag, ie no waiting for boost. And if you're old school you may appreciate the sound of a roots type blower in there. Superchargers also offer the advantage of very linear power gains, and they don't change the characteristics of the motor as much as a turbo.
Turbochargers are more efficient because they don't have any belts or mechanical interaction with the motor. Therefore there is much less drag on the engine. A properly sized turbo will make just as much or more power depending on what you want. And there is also that wicked spooling sound and the BOV.
Still it's up to you on what you want. I think what everyone tells you is good stuff and all, but you should check out your options thoroughly.
