Sleeved blocks/forged pistons -- How many of you use the factory oil squirters?
I am having a B18C machined soon for this season. This will be my first sleeved block, along with my first time using forged pistons. I hear you need to machine the oil squirters to fit after sleeving. Should I follow through and machine them? Or are they necessary if I'm using forged pistons? I am thinking they will help keep pistons temperatures down during prolonged high-RPM useage, so my gut instinct is to keep them.

I've heard that eliminating the squirters helps to boost oil pressure, and that forged pistons don't require the oil for cooling. Myself, I'd keep them just to be safe.

See, thats what I've heard also, but for some reason my gut instinct tells me otherwise...

why would you elminate an oiling source??? even with forged stuff i'd always run oil squirters..
Thanks for the reply Chad. EDIT: and Track Rat
I was going to try and use them.
Does anyone know the process of making the squirters fit an 85mm sleeve?

Gently bend them so they fit without hitting anything.

if using high mileage break in rings then yes continue to use teh squirters, if quick break-in race rings then no, buy the squirt plug blockoffs from endyn and block them off as they distribute too much oil under piston.

I'm going to use them on my 85mm block. There aren't any clearance issues with my pistons, maybe with some strutted pistons, but mine are fine. I figure the oil squirters won't hurt and i'm using the higher flowing obd-2 oil pump so i should be fine.
Thanks for all the responses.
I am going to be using the oil squirters for sure now.

I am running an 85mm bore and 89mm stroke B18C5 and I do not have my oil squirters. RLZ built the motor and they recommended taking them out for higher oil pressure and since this is not my daily drivers.

So, when that squirt of oil hits the underside of the piston, none of that oil hits the cylinder walls huh?
