Default breather filter on catch can VS no filter.

What is the difference, positives vs negatives of a greddy style catch can (no filter) and a moroso style can which has a filter on top of it?

mine is like the greddy, a sealed unit. one thing i have noticed with the way i have the evacuation system set up, is that above 15psi of boost it can pull oil and vapor sooo hard it can end up being pulled out of the can itself, because mine has no baffles in it, which i am about to change.

i think the one with a filter on top would help control the amount of suction no matter the level of vacuum source used, whether it be turbo manifold or exhaust.

im thinking about the 154$ endyn setup... just want to make sure that this kit is worth all that money. I could easily peice together a cheaper setup, but I want to do it right - like the rest of my setup.

O yea, i have a sealed on, and im thinking about drilling a hole on the top to put a filter on it.
What exactly makes a vented can illegal? Would if affect the actual tailpipe test, or is it just illegal for visual purposes?

Im probably going to be running with a breather on the valve cover.
From the top of the stock black box to one fitting on the can, and from one of the sealed spots on the back (with the prelude fitting) to the can. Then have the breather on top.

Sorry to jack your thread asking this, but it might help you out too

i think its illegal because it is venting out into the atmosphere. visual inspection.

same price though

I think I am just going to follow the endyn setup exactly how they do it... If that's how they and z10 do it, it must be the most effective way.

I tapped my Greddy catch can with a 1/4 NPT and then put a barbed fitting on there and put a big breather filter on there. Can out pretty nice, and not expensive at all, I can get a picture if you'd like.
