as long as you dont beat on it and drive carefully, the risk you take with no charge piping is that you risk overspinning the turbo, which will damage the turbo

you should be fine, i know a kid with a galant thats been driving like that for about a month! because he doesn't have enough fuel to compensate for boost, and he's been fine.

or you can just shift before you boost.you can also take the spring out of the wastegate.

you could suck something up through the piping unless you put a filter or something on it

i dont know if im totally right but i believe if you just let your turbo spin freely it can damage it

yea, I would definitley just put the pipe on there, and just be responsible with it, you can drive without touching boost.. I do it all the time.

Better to do that then riding around with your charge piping disconnected.

EDIT: oh yah, like wantboost said below...you're not planning on taking the actual wastegate off are you? You dont wanna do that. IIRC you can remove the spring it when you wont boost at all.

dont take the whole wastegate off, just remove the top of the wg and pull the spring out and replace the top

You can take the car to 7500 RPM and not hit boost - it's all modulated with throttle position - if you don't give it more than 1/4-1/2 throttle, you won't build boost.

If you removed the wastegate completely, you'd have a 1.5" hole dumping exhaust gas out your manifold into the engine bay. That might tend to melt things.

if you are running a decent basemap then boosting a few pounds isn't going to hurt anything. Just drive it normal.

i've driven my car with stock injectors, stock fuel system, stock ECU with the turbo on. It was fine because i didn't boost at all. I was super slow accelerating on the freeway though haha.. you can go past 3k rpms just as long as your gas pedal is only pressed down like 10-20 percent... just watch your boost gauge and you'll be fine.
