Ram Horn Manifold for My Greddy Turbo?
I'm thinking about having a Ram Horn Manifold with a 3 inch downpipe made for my 99 Ls Integra. I have the Full Greddy Kit with the 18G Turbo, Wiesco Pistons, and Eagle Rods. I'm just trying to build off the kit I have now. What (if anything) will I gain by doing this mod?
well a ram horn manifold is good for top end power, but in sacrifice of a little spool up time (don't worry not much). The thing is that turbo matched to your engine lacks top end power
. the 3" will help with spool and top end power which again you don't have.
With all that said I say do it still! Then save up for a nice large turbo and you'll be ready for 400HP

might gain some mid. but realistically i dont think its a worthy upgrade. for one. you wont be AC compatible anymore. two you'd have to get a new downpipe made 3. prob a good idea to upgradfe turbo if you;re going to go through all that trouble.
I would do it, and when you have the money later down the road, buy a larger turbo with the same T25 footprint, so you arent stuck buying another manifold.

I didn't think about the t25 flange (dumb me!) Don't get the manifold and DP because both will have to change when you are going to get the bigger turbo (you ARE getting a bigger turbo!)

I gotta agree with you, save the money and get another setup ready then sell you greddy kit.

it will help, but its only gonna get you soo far. Your problem is still the turbo size. id say keep the manifold and upgrade the turbo and dp before the manifold.

Wish I could Dave but I just bought a new G35 coupe and am planning on boosting it too. The greddy kit is definately a great kit for the street and hasn't given me any problems as of yet. But I definately have alot of fun with it

Save up for a full upgrade, doing the mani and downpipe isnt worth it unless your turbo can be effecient enough to utilize the good qualities of a better manifold and larger downpipe.
Hey Roy, are you having a custom kit done for your G35?

If I can come up with 5-8K's asap I will do a custom setup. If not, maybe another greddy kit

Yeah the 254whp and 249 wtq is really fun to drive
.
I've love the G since it came out and said that I'll get one 1 day and that day came last Friday
. Car had 11 miles on it and by time sat night was over I was at 300. SMooth car just needs boost

Now 300 is possible. crower402 cams, skunk2 manifold,3"dp & exhaust, @17-19 psi is my estimate. I got 254whp @ 1 bar on a 2"dp and a 2.25 exhaust
. Tuned Very conservative too.

But he cant afford to change the turbo now is what it sounds like, so a T3 mani. would do him no good... He can buy a manifold with a t25 flange to use the turbo he has now, and have PLENTY of room to upgrade later... Precision actually has a complete line of turbos that utilize the t25 pattern, that are designed as direct bolt ons for DSM's using stock exhaust manifolds... Besides the fact I have seen couple DSMs make 450whp PLUS, on a Mitsubishi 25G, which can be had for fairly cheap through our local DSM boards...

that's it right there. I only have so much money to work with right now. I guess what I need to know for sure right now is 1. will the new mani/downpipe hurt or help my current setup with the turbo I have and 2. how much will this help a new turbo down the road (with a t25 flange)?
For now, you will only see minimal gains, but when you switch to a larger turbo, it will sure help out alot... Now may also be a good time to think about getting rid of the internal gate, in favor of an external... But until you do that, you could always run a block off plate if you buy a manifold already flanged for an external gate.....
