Default 97 Ls motor into 00 si

I've got a 00 si that I am currently building a motor for and have the chance to get a 97 ls motor for really cheap. I am just planning on putting the ls motor in for a few months while my motor is being built. I did a quick search and didn't find anything. My question is what all would be nessecary for this swap? I've been told that all the wiring will plug right in if i use my engine harness, I just use the ls dist. and get a obd2 to obd1 harness and run the ls ecu, is this true? If not what wiring changes will be needed..TIA

every car from 95 and up is obd2, so why would you need an obd 1 harness for a 97 motor?

To use an obd1 ls ecu because I don't think a obd2 ls ecu will plug into my si harness

its because the year car was designed with certain emmision ratings from the factory. So basically 97 had certain standards and 00 has others. And emmisions get get better not worse throughout the years. So you can put a newer motor in becasue the emmisions are higher and the goverment likes that.

It also depends where u live , i don't think we have a law like that here... If ur using a 97 it will plug into ur harness fine but u will need a conversion harnessfor the ecu.. if u use the obd1 dizzy u will have to repin the plugs on the dizzy cause they are not wired the same as the obd2 ones.. There is also one other thing everyone else forgot to tell u , you are gonna have to use the hard block mount from the driver side off the SI motor, since the integra ones are different

This motor is obd2. The obd2 ls ecu should plug into my si harness with no modification, also I'm pretty sure the distributor will also plug in, but could be wrong.

it's just a temp engine. He's not trying to get it to pass anything. Re-read his post more carefully.

once again I would advice you to re-read the original post. This is just a temp engine until he's b16 is back from the shop.

hehe, so many ppl have ADD - huh, wat?

just do it.

might as well go obd1 and get a chipped ecu to run the ls, then burn the chip again when you get the b16 done

to run the 97 ls ecu your gonna have to get a obd2 b to A conversion harness... the distributor plugs i think will be the same now that im pretty sure that it goes by what obd it is and not A or B.....ur harness will contain remainders of vtec wiring but just tape them off while the ls is in and i cant think of anything else... use all your mounts, ur axles and ur shift linkage and you should be goood!!
