Default will uncut bumpstops ruin my shocks?

i installed KYB AGX's and Neuspeed Sports a little over a month ago and didnt cut my bumpstops or get an alignement. i dont mind the slightly bouncy ride of the KYBs but anytime i hit a bump my car slams like hell. could this be because of the uncut bumpstops? is it worth it to take all the suspension off again to cut em? i certainly will if my KYBs are gonna be ruined.

What do you have the shocks set to? If they're set pretty low you can set them higher till you cut the stops down some.

the bumpstops are there to keep the shock from compressing too much, you cut em and you;re gonna blow em out

On my Accord, when I got Eibach springs, the manual recommended cutting the bump stops down by about half. If yo have the shocks removed, you can lower (slowly) the shaft until it hits the bottom of its travel. Whatever is still sticking out (not including the threads) the bump stop should be longer then that and not capable of being squished into a space smaller then is sticking out. Hope that makes sense.

nah, you can, tehy say to do that for exra travel, but it voids any warranty, and if your car is really that low, choose a shock wiht a shortened body, somthing made to go that low. when they hit that bumpstop its to keep it from overcompressing like i said. yeah its cool to ride the bumpstops under cornering and have infinate spring rates, but tehres a reason for em
