Default Idling issue after Buddy Club Spec 3+'s

After I've fitted my BC3+'s into my B18c motor, it idles at about 1000rpm.

The main concern is when I drive it and say depress the clutch as I pull up to a junction the idle will rise to 1700ish rpm and then drop slowly back down to 1000.

My Idle adjuster screw is doing nothing, so I'm getting a new one of those.

The ignition timing is set at 16deg BTDC like it should be, the intake cam is advanced +2deg and the exhaust is at Zero deg.

Any ideas?

LOL, did you UNPLUG the IACV before adjusting the screw? It wont do jack till you unplug it THEN adjust the idle screw. Just something to think about before you go replacing things.

Yup sure did, the idle screw hardly turns atall and the slot is all worn down so I'm gonna replace it anyway.

it sounds more like a bad IACV then the idle screw if thats the case.

It was fine before I installed the cams and the idle thing happened straight away.

Someone has suggested it's because the intake cam is advanced????

how old is your IACV. these things go at about 80k. Who knows what the headwork knocked loose in there.

1. What lash are you running. I like 0.007/0.009 in/ex.
2. You'll want to modify your maps depending upon how much vacuum the motor is pulling.
3. I usually like to set-up the maps to run at 17 - 18 degrees at idle to have good idle and good rpm "bounce" back after letting off.

Also check if your timing belt was installed properly.

I've been told that it's because the inlet is drawing less vacuum so the Map sensor sees less load and therefore riches up the idle thus giving a higer idle speed.

I take it this can be sorted by leaning off the idle a little using my V-AFC yeah?

I have the valve lash set to 8 thou. In and 9 thou. Ex

The timing belt is fine

I had the same problem with my setup not to long ago, and it ended up being the tps sensor was not properly tuned. So I just set it and the car ran like a wet dream.
