Default Shaft Play Q and SC61 Q

I was wondering how much shaft play is too much (side to side) and once there is just a little bit of it, is it time for a rebuild.

Also is the Precision SC61 a reliable turbo, or is it one that is constantly being rebuilt due to shaft play and other factors? I know many people have this turbo but is it due to be rebuilt soon after installation or does it last a good amount of time under normal boosting circumstances (5-10 psi)?

Thanks

If there's just a pinch of side-to-side play it's fine, as was stated earlier on this board the shaft needs to ride on a cushion of oil, so when the turbo is "dry" there's bound to be atleast a bit of play.

My SC61 has over 25 thousand miles on it between me and the previous owner and I've ran it hard, no problems with it. It's just like any other T3/TO4E, if it's built right it'll last a long time.
