boy i've had it with this fluctuating idle. I have a JDM b16 in my 91 ls, and whenever I put alot of load on the motor; (heat, foglights, headlights, etci) it would idle pretty low, and sometimes stall out. also if I am driving, and shift into neutral and let the revs drop all the way, it would stall again!! I cleaned out the IACV and sprayed some cleaner into the intake manifold, and it worked for awhile, now I'm having this problem again. what else could it be? TIA

 

did you check your alt or battery

 

um.. did you try the throttle body adjustment screw? raise your idle up a little bit.. i'm guessing your motor is obd1.. if it is look under the throttle body and you might need to clean your fitv.

 

I raised my idle a bit, worked for a while, but now does this **** all over again I will check the fitv, but could it be the alternator? just because it only stalls/idles low when accessories are on.

 

could be.. does your car start up ok??

what are the rpm's when every thing is off?

 

seems like a bad ground. get that thing grounded!!!

idles around 1000 since i turned the idle up a little.... but i just dont get it! this morning on my way 2 school I turned my rear defroster and foglights on, gave it a quick rev, and it was damn close to stalling out. if i dont have the accessories on... idles a lil high, (again only because i turned the idle up) but fine.

 

anyone else? this ish is killin me..
