No... GSR fits LS, but not vice versa... This is what I've always been told, and I've always done... Maybe if you changed the pickup on the GSR to and LS pickup, than I think you could run a LS pan...

 

It would be goin on an LS block...But im using the gsr girdle windtray and oil pickup...so SUPPOSEDLY the GSR pan is deeper to compensate for the bigger oil pickup...but I need to know the facts before i buy a pan...

 

no they are not the same i broke mine and i tried to use a ls oil pan and it doesnt fit the oil pan pick up isnt the same

Right, they arent the same. GSR/ITR pan will fit on an LS/B16. Not vice versa.

Which means you should be running a GSR pan with your setup.

Well I've had oil leak problem for a while, and Im wondering if this is the cause of my problem. Im getting ready to replace the front main seal; hopefully this will fix it! Also I have header fitament problems, to where the header wont fit with the oilpan, so we had to heatup the corner with a torch and roll in. So far I have still been through 4 oil pan gaskets and now I believe thats not the problem!

 

The gsr pan has" P72 "formed into the bottom of the pan.It is deeper to clear the main girdle.The p/u is longer to clear the girdle and match the pan.

Since it is deeper is that bad for my oil pickup? Is there a possibility of my motor starving for oil?

Does anyone have any pics of and LS and GSR oilpan to compare to? I will take pics of mine tonight!
