Alright...I have a D16Z6 with a custom SP AC compatible manifold w/ a t25 DSM turbo. I'm starting to do research on different options for the future as far as bolt on turbos go which would be prefered...but if I can get a turbo more suited for what I want, then I'll just have to get new stuff fabbed up again.
So far I've come up with these choices:
T28 Elliminator w/Big 16g CW
T3 Super-60
GT28R or RS
My goals are as follows:
300-350whp
Good Low end Spooling
Tq curve to carry further into the power band than my t25
Hold boost till redline
I basically use my car for daily driving, and when I get the chance I do some spirited driving in the mountains. I also take my car to the track and drag as well. I know you can't have everything out of a turbo, but I figured I'll be honest and say that I would like to have something thats goin to be fairly universal. I plan on running a 10:1cr built Z6 as well...in case that has any effect on choices.
Any other turbo suggestions that would be better suited would be fine as well...so please share. And I guess as far as price goes...around 1k is about the very max I would be willing to pay. Cheaper is better since more than likely I would be having to pay to fab the new stuff...but it's not the deciding factor. I would also greatly prefer that you have some personal experience with the turbo you suggest or choose...don't wanna get a lot of bandwagon goin on. I want some good feedback from anyone that has used the turbos I've come up with or that you suggest.
Oh yeah...AC must be kept since this is my daily driver and my gf will have my ***** if I don't have it.

The best upgrade is to go ball bearing if you want fast spool. But seeing that you are limited in budget, GT28R is out of the question. With your power goals, even a GT28R or GT28RS would be stretching it.
The cheapest solution to reach your horsepower goal is to get your turbo upgraded. Clipping and a bigger wheel for the turbo, or simply get a bigger turbo like T3-Super60. It should cost you less than a grand.
