Default idle idle idle idle idle

Nope, don't own an ITR, but I do have an ITR transmission, does that count?

The other forums are too slow or full of idiots so I'm asking here.

My car barely idles once it's fully warmed up, maybe 400rpm or so. Never dies, but feels really close.

This is only the case on short in-town drives. When I take a long highway drive, lets say 30 minutes or more, the car idles at the appropriate 750 or so and feels fine.

I don't have a lot of cash to throw away on various sensors or doo-dads, so I was wondering if someone had an idea about what was wrong here.

My only thought is the primary O2.

This is a 92 Civic Si w/ an OBDI B18C1 and stock P72 ECU.

Look into your IACV and Fast idle valve. It sounds like the Fast idle valve is stuck closed.

Do this, then your car is cold, take the intake tube off. Start the car up and look inside the TB. You should see two holes to the left side of the TB. Put your finger over the bottom hole. When your car is cold (warming up), the Fast idle valve should be open. The bottom hole inside the TB is for the fast idle. If it is not sucking air, it is stuck closed.

why dont you raise your idle like 350-400 and then you will idle at like 750 in city and like 1100 at max after a highway run, maybe even less if the car isnt acting gay

Because that's only a band-aid.

Anyway, I'll check out the fast idle valve tomorrow. I cleaned out the IACV awhile ago which resulted in no real change of idle quality.

How's your air filter? I've heard of dirty filters causing low idle.
