Default help with new turbo install

ok so a buddy put a homemade kit on his del-sol.....originally it was a oem b16 del sol, but bla bla it now has a jdm d15b vtec........he is using 450s, and a chipped ecu running uberdata i believe. he doesnt have a resistor box (lol my fault i forgot to tell him, im an ef guy).......he also doesnt have anything hooked up to the map sensor to hide boost.

his problem is the car wont rev past 3500, would this be because he doesnt have a resistor box? or cuz of the map sensor? or what other problems????????? i sold him the kit so i kinda wanna make it work....thanks!

You don't need to hide boost from Uberdata. So it must be your injectors.

sounds like a bad chip. Did he turn off the knock sensor.. what ecu? ETC... use a resistor box if you like your injector drivers.

stock Map sensor? it can't read positive pressure. You don't have to hide it, but its not going to read it either.

i have no idea what ecu he is using, its obd1 running uberdata....if you can answer these questions that would be most helpful

1. does he need to do anything with the map sensor??? its the same as it was stock...

2. ill get the resistor box hooked up for him, but as of now could it be causing it to stop reving past 3500??

3. i was not there durring the install so is there anything else that comes to mind?

I'm not very familiar with Uberdata...is the car throwing a CEL? What happens near 3500rpms....as in, what does it do exactly or sound like? How long were the injectors in before the turbo/have they been run to redline w/o problem before the turbo? Time to invest in a good wideband A/F meter
