RSX type R motor swap or news cams and internals for the USDM EP
Guys, and girls help me out here. I am suppose to make a very difficult desicion here. As you all know the USDM EP doesnot have much power, at least not more me and things I do. So I want to boost up the power and I`m talking 60+ hp (naturally asperated). I have narrowed it down to couple of choices.
1. Get a complte RSX type R motor swap at cost of $6000 +
2. Change the cams and internals and get as much, maybe more hp than first choice but about half the cost
I really want to do it right either way because I'm not trying spend $h!t load of money cuz i aint got none.
So, please my pro K20 owners. HELP me decide !

1st of all there is no RSX R motor. this is a DC5 R motor. and if you get it and put it in a EP3 it will be very fast. however it if you want 60+ hp on a car it will be very have to do NA. I'm guessing you are looking for 260. But what you have to know is if you get a DC5 R motor the tranny is awesome on that motor. it has a FD and LSD. so you will be very fast with just a stock motor swap. so I think for you DC5 R motor+Intake+raceheader+exhuast+KPRO, will get you where you want to go.
so your 2 choices are (1) do a k20a swap and (2) change the internals of the stock k20a3 OR change internals of the k20a?
coz as far as i know, there are no aftermarket cams for the k20a3 available.
now for the k20a, with just basic bolt ons im pretty sure it'll get you to 13s, maybe 12s with good tires and upgraded ecu and if you're a good driver.
and if you still want to upgrade the cams on the k20a, well, you do the math on how fast you can go.

If you want 60hp over stock, then just swap an a2 with I/H/E and kpro. That will do the trick
168 puts it right in RSX territory with only a couple of mods and tuning. Then pick up the dc5R trans

Peak power, yes, but it looks like your car has a much better curve than a stock rsx
What did you make STD or SAE?

Until someone figures out the ecu on the 05's, I'd personally rather have an 02-04.
