I found this company on Partstrader.com. He's selling some motors, I was wondering if they heard of Xtreme Autosports INC. in canada? Thanx.

I would be cautious no matter what.... Sounds like it could be legit but who knows... Just do a little homework on the guy and his business and you can maybe find a bit more info...

I really don't know, I haven't asked him yet, I'll ask tomorrow though. I am actually going to buy the type r instead...he said that the type r would be less than 3000 shipped....

He said a 2 month warranty, and I can pay through bidpay...I want this engine. But I don't know if this is a really good deal or a scam. Any advice would be great.

HOw should I go about doing some of that research? I tried to type in the company on yahoo, google, and nothing comes up. The only thing is Xtreme Autosport that is in Ohio, and the company I am buying from is Xtreme Autosports..but if it goes sour, can bidpay refund the money?

5 answers:

1. canada ( considered international and unless the fraud is in the millions fbi wont help you)

2. partstrader<<< lots of fraud is done on that site

3. pictures mean ****. i can take photos and send them to you too.

4. most important. i am most certain that there is a closer shop if not in florida.

5. if you pay for anything always use your credit card, alot easier to get money back. if he doesnt accept credit cards just walk away...

3k for an R motor? SCAM 2200 for a GSR? Could very well be legitimate...

My idea of "protection".... Is seeing what you are buying.... sometimes the best prices are not always the best deal.....

it is but you do pay a certain fee to use them. in the end you are out that money. like you said it yourself it is too true to be legit...listen to yourself and dont let the greedyness inside you make you go through this purchase...

we all wish we could get a legitamit R engine for that price, shipping alone will cost 300-500.

but in the end only you can make the decision. good luck eitherway.

Just remember you get what you pay for. compare engine prices from reputable honda/acura motor dealer companys to this guys company prices, and see how you feel. just my 2 cents.
